Our Favourite Woolyknits of 2025 | Knitting Inspiration for 2026

There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing our yarn worn, loved and lived in. Throughout 2025, the Woolyknit community inspired others with incredible knitting projects, sharing how they style their knitwear for everyday life - from countryside walks to cosy days at home.
These real life knits don’t just showcase Woolyknit yarn at its best; they tell a story of longevity, comfort and timeless, quality yarn. As we look ahead to 2026, we’re taking inspiration directly from you - our knitting community.
2025 Woolyknit Trends We Loved
Blended Yarns for Soft Contrast
In 2025, we saw a growing appreciation for yarns that bring together tradition and subtle innovation. Combining our pure wool yarns with a strand of mohair became a popular technique, creating a softer, lighter fabric while adding gentle texture and depth.
This blend introduced a refined halo effect, elevating classic knitwear designs without losing their timeless appeal - a perfect example of how knitters are experimenting while still valuing quality yarns.

Knitted Accessories
Knitted accessories played a big role in 2025. From knitted gloves to crocheted tote bags, these smaller projects became practical additions that added character to everyday outfits.
They’re also a great way to use up leftover yarn from our cones, making the most of every strand and reinforcing a more sustainable approach to knitting.

Layering Pieces
Layering knits was a key theme throughout 2025. Using our 4ply and DK yarns, many knitters created tank tops, sleeveless knits and shawls that added warmth and comfort without bulk.
These versatile layers allow knitwear to be worn comfortably across seasons, reinforcing the idea of a considered, adaptable knitwear wardrobe that’s built to last.

Texture Takes Centre Stage
Texture became the focal point in many Woolyknit projects, allowing simple silhouettes to feel rich and full of character. Cable knits, ribbed finishes and traditional stitch patterns highlighted the stitch definition of our yarns and the beauty of high quality wool.
Rather than relying on colourwork or bold patterns, texture showcased craftsmanship and thoughtful knitting techniques.
Colour Trends of 2025
Throughout the Woolyknit community, popular colour choices remained grounded and earthy. Soft blues and deep greens featured heavily in 2025, often paired with textured stitches, ribbing and traditional finishes. Rather than bold patterns, knitters leaned into rich, classic colours, allowing technique and texture to take centre stage.
Pantone's 2025 colour of the year, Mocha Mousse, felt perfectly suited to the Woolyknit palette. Many customers echoed these warm brown tones in their projects, reflecting comfort, reassurance and a strong connection to nature.
As we move into 2026, the wide colour range of our 100% wool yarns continues to inspire timeless knitwear pieces designed with quality materials, thoughtful design and longevity in mind. We continue to encourage building a knitwear wardrobe around quality staples that are durable, comfortable and made to last for generations.
