250g 5ply Guernsey cone - 100% British wool

A traditional 5ply Guernsey style yarn made with 100% British wool. This yarn is slightly heavier than a 4ply yarn and slightly lighter than a DK yarn. It can be used to knit sport weight patterns, but is best used to knit traditional Guernsey sweaters (on very small needles!). This yarn was traditionally used to knit fisherman sweaters, so needed to be windproof and waterproof. The high twist in this yarn paired with knitting it on small needles, creates a structured fabric that was just that.
